Well, here we go! We take off today for the expedition and soon we will be somewhere over the Pacific Ocean, on our way to Nepal and the adventures that lay ahead on Annapurna IV and Annapurna I.
We will posting updates from the mountains on this page as often as possible…hope you check back often and enjoy them!
We want to give a special thanks to Sean Patrick and the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation for inspiring this expedition. Sean is absolutely one of THE most incredible people we have ever met, and we are truly honored to be working with HERA in raising awareness for ovarian cancer through this expedition and project.
Ovarian cancer is a terribly misunderstood, misdiagnosed and extremely fatal disease. EVERYONE is affected by this disease - Women and men, boys and girls. With increased awareness and the resulting improvements in detection and treatment we can help all of those directly and indirectly affected.
OVARIAN CANCER STATS:
- 1 out of 69 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer
- Approximately 55% of those diagnosed will not survive more than five years
- 20,000 Women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year
- 15,000 Women in the United States die of ovarian cancer every year
Thanks for following our expedition and awareness campaign! Let’s make a positive difference!
